CONCEPT BRIEF: Design a logo for the University of Utah club, Inclusive Earth
INCLUSIVE EARTH - Logo design
The club, Inclusive Earth, was started by a group of graduate students in the College of Minds and Earth Science at the University of Utah. They wanted to address the severe lack of diversity in the STEM departments within their university. Their club takes part in sensitivity training, workshops, guided workshops, and teaches unconscious bias especially in the STEM community.
They wanted a logo that reflected the Utah landscape, since they are located in Utah and most of them are involved in the earth sciences. They also made it clear that they wanted to avoid the obvious and overused symbols or different colored hands, profiles, or puzzle pieces found in most equality symbols. As a result, the final logo ended up being a simple profile of the mountains and arches that Utah is known for as they follow the contour of the letters.
